- Authentication Data: We collect details from your Google Account (name, email address, profile picture) when you authenticate using Google Auth. We also collect mobile phone numbers when OTP-based login is used.
- Property and Building Data: Building administrators provide details about the building (name, address, city, number of floors, and units).
- Resident and Unit Info: We store details associated with each apartment unit, including unit numbers, occupancy status, owner/resident names, email addresses, and phone numbers.
- Billing and Service Charge Records: We store bills generated (month, year, amount due, due date), and records of service charge payments. These records include amounts, dates of payment, payment methods (Cash, Bank Transfer, bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Check, or others), reference numbers, and admin notes.
- Usage & Device Information: We may automatically collect device details, browser types, IP addresses, and user activity logs to monitor app performance and security.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate, improve, and secure BashaBill, specifically to:
- Facilitate building setup, flat unit configuration, and role-based access control.
- Generate monthly service charge bills and track outstanding dues/defaulter lists.
- Record manual payment logs submitted or validated by building administrators.
- Send automatic billing notifications and payment reminders via WhatsApp, SMS, or email.
- Analyze system performance, track diagnostic logs, and debug application issues.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the integrity of the BashaBill ecosystem.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information under the following limited circumstances:
- With Building Management: Your unit details, dues, and payment records are fully visible to your building's designated committee administrators and co-residents (depending on building transparency settings).
- Service Providers: We share necessary details (such as phone numbers and messages) with trusted third-party providers, like the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API, solely to deliver utility notifications and reminders.
- Legal Obligations:We may disclose information if required to do so by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
5. Data Security and Isolation (Multi-Tenancy)
BashaBill is architected as a strict multi-tenant system. This means that each building's data (units, payments, residents, and configs) is logically and strictly isolated database-level from other buildings on the platform. Members of one building cannot view, access, or modify data belonging to another building.
We employ industry-standard technical measures (including SSL encryption, secure API endpoints, and regular backups) to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, please remember that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on external tools for certain operational workflows:
- Google OAuth: Used for secure, password-less logins. Google handles password security, and BashaBill only requests basic profile information.
- Meta WhatsApp Cloud API: Used by building administrators to send payment reminders. By agreeing to use this system, you acknowledge that your phone number and payment status will be transmitted securely through Meta's servers to deliver the message.
7. User Consent for Messaging
By registering on BashaBill or providing your contact details to a building administrator on the platform, you explicitly consent to receive transactional notifications, monthly invoices, and payment reminders via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. Building administrators represent that they have obtained the necessary consent from residents before adding their contact numbers to BashaBill.
8. Your Rights and Data Deletion
You have the right to review, update, or correct your personal data in BashaBill. If you wish to delete your account or require your building's data to be permanently purged from our platform, you can initiate a request by contacting us at support@bashabill.com. Please note that certain historical accounting ledger logs may be retained if legally required or strictly necessary to maintain building financial records.
